Many of the clarinets Ryan sells are instruments that have been carefully evaluated, repaired, adjusted, and restored for active musical use. Rather than treating older clarinets as disposable, his goal is to rescue good instruments, correct mechanical and pad issues, and make them useful again for students, advancing players, collectors, and working musicians.
Ryan regularly works with respected clarinet makers such as Buffet, Selmer, Leblanc, Yamaha, Vito, Conn, Normandy, Bundy, Jupiter, and other established brands. A dedicated clarinet sales website may be coming soon, where available instruments will be listed for purchase.
Repair & Overhaul Services
Ryan primarily specializes in clarinet repads and overhauls for all levels of clarinets, including student, intermediate, professional, vintage, and Albert-system instruments. He also provides maintenance and playability service for clarinets purchased from him, including bringing instruments back into proper playing condition when adjustments are needed.
Overhauls are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Because this is a one-person operation, Ryan limits the number of overhaul projects on the bench at one time in order to maintain quality control and keep turnaround times reasonable. The goal is generally a 1–2 week turnaround whenever possible, depending on the condition of the instrument and the current repair schedule.
Ballpark overhaul pricing:
Student clarinet overhaul: $375
Intermediate, professional, or Albert-system clarinet overhaul: $500
These are general starting figures. Additional charges may apply depending on the condition of the instrument, missing or damaged parts, unusual mechanical issues, previous poor repairs, crack concerns, key fitting problems, or other work beyond a standard overhaul.
Appointments & Consultation
Clarinet repairs and overhauls are accepted by appointment or prior consultation only. Ryan does not accept unsolicited repair work or instruments sent without prior approval.

Photos are strongly preferred, especially clear pictures of the full instrument, keywork, pads, tenons, serial numbers, damaged areas, and anything that appears unusual. After reviewing the information, Ryan can advise you on the next step and whether the instrument is a good candidate for service.
